Reactive Rehab Level 2

About the Course

Practicing your skills and navigating challenging and/or unexpected situations while in the safety of the controlled classroom environment will help you gain confidence (in yourself and your dog!) and learn to remain calm in situations you might otherwise find stressful.

Reactive Rehab Level 2 focuses on the real world application of the skills you learned in Level 1. In addition to learning a handful of new tricks, you and your dog will practice functioning with increased distractions; moving past other dogs without becoming overly excited or nervous; remaining stationary, calm, and focused while another dog moves past; and recovering quickly after being startled by an unexpected or triggering sight and/or sound.

As with Reactive Rehab Level 1, you will find understanding and a supportive, encouraging environment designed to help both you and your dog succeed. This class is structured to be repeatable, with the ability to increase difficulty and modify the exercises to provide appropriate challenges and ensure you and your dog are achieving success while continuing to learn and improve your skills.

Class Notes and Requirements

Reactive Rehab Level 2 is a 6 week long class, meeting once per week at the same time every week.

All 6 weeks are practical lessons so bring your dog!!

To enroll in Reactive Rehab Level 2, you must complete Reactive Rehab Level 1 or enroll in private training, and receive instructor permission. If you have taken similar classes elsewhere or believe you have the skills to skip Reactive Rehab Level 1, please contact (612) 225-9598, info@CalmCompanionsMN.com, or click here to schedule a consultation call and assessment.

While you are welcome to bring additional people, you may not send a new person (someone who has not previously attended class) to handle your dog alone.

Kids who are able to remain calm and quiet are welcome to attend week 1. However, as kids may be triggering for the other dogs in class, please reach out before enrolling and/or ask your instructor on week 1 if you would like your child(ren) to attend weeks 2-6. All handlers working with your dog in class must be over 18 years of age.

Note: this class is geared towards behavior problems that occur outside of the home. We WILL NOT ADDRESS possessive aggression (of food, toys, etc.) towards humans or dogs, or aggression towards housemates in relation to controlling space or movement as these situations can be highly individual and difficult to replicate in a group environment. If you are struggling with these types of aggression, please reach out to schedule a private, in-home training session and we would be happy to help! Click here to contact us.

If your dog has a bite history or exhibits aggressive behavior, please schedule a free consultation call here, or contact us at (612) 225-9598 or info@CalmCompanionsMN.com before enrolling. Please know, having a bite history may or may not rule out participation, but understanding context and severity are essential to ensuring everyone's safety.
